Whiteface GPS Maps

Elevation Profile

Here is the GPS data from the 20th annual Whiteface climb, November 10, 2007. This was my first time, and it was great. I was NOT prepared for how tough it would be, but I plan on training so I can do a little better next year.

There is a little funkiness in the GPS data beacuse My reciever turned off a few times in the cold and the elevation is screwy because I used the barometric altimeter for a while instead of the GPS altimeter. It is pretty close though.

Interactive Google Map

This map shows the track from the GPS and is interactive. Using the map type box on the top you can overlay the track over a TOPO map or the google map types.

And, if you have google Earth installed, this should generate a cool overlay of the track over a 3D rendering of Whiteface. Click here to start up Google Earth

If you don't have Google Earth installed, Click here, it is free.

Here is a screenshot from Google Earth.
